Auditions for Shamrock Series are now open!

Thank you for taking interesting being a part of Trinity High School's Department of Theatre Arts!  We are so excited for the upcoming season.  Please take a few minutes to fill out the audition/interview form located in the link below.  All requirements for auditions/interviews will be found below.  Anyone wishing to participate in the theatre department for this semester, must fill out the link below.  This includes both Actors and Technical personnel.
 
We are searching for any Trinity students and high school female students interested in performing in our second annual Shamrock Series 2023.  Please note you must be at least an incoming freshmen in high school in order to be eligible to audition.  Please continue reading for the following required to be brought to auditions/interviews.

One Act Descriptions & Character Lists:

The Circle of Wishes and Dreams​
Written By: Bryce Pomerville
Directed By: Liam Amick

Benji and Charlotte, two thieves, are pulled into a world of magic and secret societies when their heist on Edelweiss Industries goes awry. When they attempt the burglary again as new members of the Circle of Wishes and Dreams, they find that they have to stick together and trust each other, or possibly pay the price with their lives.

CHARACTERS:
Benji (Male): A cocky thief who has found a way to make a life on the streets. He always goes for the money, and although he doesn’t admit it he cares for Charlotte a bit more than he lets on.

Charlotte Dubois (Female): Benji’s closest ally and partner in crime. She has a less nihilistic worldview, and looks for wonder instead of money (but also still money)

Charles Edelweiss (Male): The owner of Edelweiss Industries, he is connected with the Circle because he smuggles illegal magic items. Very greedy and is willing to end human lives to reach his goals.

Dr. Landon Smith (Male): The leader of the Circle. Smith looks out for what he thinks are the best interests of the Circle but can be blinded by his own power.

Amelia DuPlessis (Female): Charles’s right-hand-woman, she lives for the action. But, her biggest personal goal is keeping everyone in the group safe. Very good at choosing right from wrong and sticking with her decisions.

Miles Brewer: The youngest member of the Circle. He’s very enthusiastic and just loves to be included in the group. Generally, is put on guard duty.

Noah Walters: The oldest member of the Circle, although he hasn’t been a part of it for long. However, he isn’t afraid to stand up to Landon.
Rise of Darth Vadar

"It's star wars. Nuff' Said."  Follow the path of Anikan Skywalker as he is corrupted into becoming Darth Vader. Will he get his hands on the Sith Holocron? 

CHARACTERS:
Narrator - you will be a disembodied voice. If you don't want to be on stage, but you want to perform, this is a good one.
 
Darth Vader- the alternate personality Anikan Skywalker. (No padawan murder involved.)
 
Darth Korvas - Vader's apprentice. He is also quite darth. 
 
Rebel Soldiers - They don't like Vader and there are three of them. This was the only rebellious behavior that your grandparents could get behind. 
 
Jedi - unnamed woman jedi. I might name her. Her name is now Dave.
 
Luke Skywalker - I called Mark Hamil's agent to try and get him to do it, but it was a no-go, so one of you guys has to sign up for it.
 
Emperor Palpatine - Vader's Boss. He is the emperor of Midi-chlorians, Lightning, and fun. 
The Dinner Party of Death: A Murder On 4th Street Story

"The Dinner Party of Death" is a murder mystery with a comedic edge. The show is set around a dinner party with a handful of suspicious characters.

CHARACTERS:
Jerry: The lead detective, Jerry is the only relatively down to earth guy who keeps everyone in check. Jerry can be relatively vain and sometimes has his head in the clouds while he thinks about who the killer could be. 
 
Phil: Phil is the second detective, and he is always striving to be the best. He can get very competitive at times which may put him at odds with Steve from time to time. 
 
Steve: Steve is the third detective and the dumb ladies' man (Think Joey from Friends). He has a heart of gold but a brain of air. 
 
Christopher Prattson: Christopher is a High Society man who has a secret gambling addiction. Because of this gambling addiction he lost all his money and is in serious debt. This may just give him a motive…
 
Jackson Black: Jackson is a college professor from the University of Greendale. He is a self made man who is currently being blackmailed by Samantha to give her a share of his paycheck every payday for the last 15 years. 
 
Samantha Greene: A rich and snobby girl, she has gotten one over on all of her dinner party guests. Including Jerry, whom she cheated on and then took 75% of his assets in the divorce. (Including his beloved dog)
 
William Smithium: A rational, curt man and a Nobel prize winning scientist. William developed a new element which he called Smithium, however Samantha stole his work and patented it as her own and now she makes billions because of it while William is living in a 1 room apartment.
 
Cheryl Sunny: A well-meaning, kind, but shrill young woman. Cheryl had her life ruined by Samantha after Samantha set up a hit on her dad. There was no reason behind the hit, Samantha was just bored.
 
Margret Malone: Margret is a wealthy business woman. She doesn't talk much. Samantha did nothing wrong to her, maybe…
It's Cold Outside

It’s Cold Outside follows Cymbi, a new adventurer, waiting out a snowstorm at an Inn. While there she meets Acheros, a battle scared former adventurer who she wants nothing more than to be his friend. 

CHARACTERS:
Cymbi: Cymbi just started her journey and is excited to go on new adventures. She has never met a stranger, and she shows great empathy for other people’s situations.
 
Acheros: Acheros is an experienced adventurer who lost everything. He’s now a lone wolf who spends all his time at the inn. He dislikes new people and blames himself for the loss of his freinds.
 
Innkeeper: The Innkeeper owns the local inn and does all the work. He knows or Acheros’s past and warns new people of trying to get close to him. 
The Shamrocky Story
Written By: Noah Falkenstine
Directed By: Caleb Caudill

After being chosen to stand as the school's boxing representative, Shamrocky feels that he isn't cut out for the part. With motivation from his coach, however, he starts to come out of the shadows and shine in the role he was meant to play.
 
Characters:
Shamrocky: Our main character of the story. At first, he feels he's not good enough, but starts to gain confidence as the story progresses.
 
The Tiger: St. X's fighter. An overconfident athlete who thinks he's better than everyone else.
 
Coach Falkenstine: Shamrocky's coach. An inspirational figure for our main hero.
 
Coach Louis: The Tiger's coach. A man who takes absolute pride in his's fighter's skills.
 
Joe: One of the announcers.
 
Greg: One of the announcers. 
Island of Lions
Written By: Nolan Williams
Directed By: Gabriel Argotte

In The Island of Lions, Ivan Mikhailovich, a psychologist working for the Soviet Union is tasked with diagnosing a rebellious Gennady Petrovich, who preaches Christianity in the face of the Soviet system. As Ivan observes Gennady, he begins to find he may be in the wrong, and perhaps by sticking with Gennady and listening to what he has to say, he will find a better life.

Characters:
  • Gennady Petrovich: the prisoner - A Christian thrown in jail for counter-revolutionary activity (protesting food shortage). He wants to be treated better by the gulag because he believes the world should be more just. He has a worldview that centers on a clear line between right and wrong. His father would beat him, but his mother instilled a Christian worldview in him, even with Soviet persecution. When he saw that his job was unfair to its workers, he protested. When he was mistreated in prison, he protested. He is sure of his standing and will not capitulate to anyone. He is the rock this show stands on, Ivan learns from him.
 
  • Ivan Mikhailovich: the psychologist - A soviet psychologist, newly assigned to the gulag system. He believes whole-heartedly in the Soviet system and the system of psychology which he has been reared in. Unfortunately, his philosophy is wrong, and he knows this deep down. This show centers around his internal conflict, deciding between what is safe - both physically and for his worldview - and what is right. He is a man who had been conditioned his whole life to believe in an evil system, and he is realizing that everything he stands for is wrong.
 
  • Vladimir Igorovich: the warden - An agent of all things Soviet, he cares not for the people in his keeping. He cares only for supporting the gulag system. He believes that communism’s success is inevitable, and its opposition must be rooted out. He does not intend to be evil; he just idolizes the utopian idea of communism and will do anything to see it realized. He wants a better world but does not notice the people that live in it.

The Apollo Virus

The Andromeda Spoof is a comedic view of a pandemic and how people respond to it. The story follows Jerry who is the leading microbiologist is the world's last hope of being able to return to a normal time.
 
Characters:
​​​Dr. Stone: An esteemed microbiologist. He has a leader personality. It's a relatively small part because he dies in the first scene
 
Dr. Ritter: he is a scaredy-cat. Also a relatively small part because he dies in the first scene
 
Dead Bodies: 3-5 dead bodies. They can be people who are already cast in the play but aren't in the first scene. A fun idea would be after the director does the curtain speech, they could tense up and die and be one of the dead bodies. (That's just a fun idea I had)
 
Heckler: The last of the small parts. The heckler is sitting in the audience and gets introduced and dies in scene three.
 
Bill: An alcoholic. Bill has lived in Cimarron all his life and he is not trusting of the government.
 
Monica: She is a high ranking employee of NASA and she was put in charge of leading the project.
 
Jerry: Jerry is the best microbiologist in the world. He is the only one who isn't a doctor. (I will leave why up to you) He was put in charge of leading the scientists.
 
Dr. Greene: Dr. Greene is a tough guy who has a passion for science.
 
Dr. Mann: The world's leading Macrobiologist, Dr. Mann is actually a woman. This is funny because her name is Mann and she is a woman.
 
Dr. Brown: Dr. Emmet Brown is an older man who likes hanging out with high school students. He is a disgraced nuclear physicist and his best friend is a 17 year old white boy named Marty who almost did it with his mother and then took credit for a song that a black guy wrote. 
 
Dr. Allen: Dr. Allen is the world's smartest man second only to Albert Einstein, Nikola Tesla, Stephen Hawking, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, and like 50 other dudes.
