Stop the presses! Led by Jack and independent reporter Katherine Plummer, the newsies form a union and organize a strike.  Can a group of idealist newsies win against a foe as greedy and powerful as the acclaimed publisher of the New York World, Joseph Pulitzer?  Inspired by the true story of the 1899 Newsboy Strike and based on the 1992 Disney motion picture, Newsies features a Tony Award winning score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman with a funny, poignant book by Harvey Fierstein.  Newsies is an enthusiastic, joyful, and entertaining musical capturing the strength young people have when they join together and stand up against injustice.  With non-stop thrills and a timeless message, this fun-loving musical will inspire everyone to fight for what’s right and “Seize the Day!
